Iwobi expresses frustration over Arsenal's failure to take all three points at Old Trafford

SUPER Eagles striker Alex Iwobi has expressed frustration at the fact that his clubside Arsenal did not clinch all three points in yesterday's Premier League match against Manchester City last night after the two sides drew 2-2 at Old Trafford.

Iwobi started the match and played for 65 minutes but twice Arsenal took the lead and surrendered it, leaving Manchester with only one point. In both instances, Arsenal surrendered the lead almost immediately after going ahead in the 26th and 68th minutes of the match.

“We knew it was going to be a difficult game because Old Trafford is always a tough place to come. I guess it’s a hard one to take because we were ahead twice and both teams fought hard, though, so I guess a draw is a fair result for both teams.

“Maybe it’s just a mental thing of staying focused. We got a bit excited and tried to rush forward where we shouldn’t have, so ,maybe it’s about just making sure we settle things down a bit," Iwobi said.

Arsenal, took the lead early on through Shkodran Mustafi's header, which squirmed through David de Gea's hands and just dropped over the line in the 26th minute. Anthony Martial's close-range finish brought United level shortly after in the 30 minute mark, before two goals in the space of a minute in the second half as Marcos Rojo's own goal from sub Alexandre Lacazette's effort gave Arsenal the lead only for Jesse Lingard to score just 13 seconds later.

This result means United are now winless in four Premier League games, leaving them eight points off the top four and 18 points off leaders Manchester City after just 15 games. Arsenal on the other hand are unbeaten in 20 games in all competitions and sit fifth place in the Premier League table.
