Africa needs to be hit by a political comet that will destroy our Al-Bashir mindset

(1) When Adolf Hitler committed suicide, millions were not found in his bunker

(2) Napoleon Bonaparte was the world’s first modern military president who overthrew a government and introduced martial law. No millions were found on him when he was arrested and sent into exile

(3) Romania’s Nicolai Caucescu was not caught with billions

(4) East Germany’s Eric Honecker also left office penniless

(5) Dictatorships are not new to Africa. If anything, it was the Europeans who taught us absolutism

(6) Corruption is also not new or unique to Africa but as man has evolved, being stupendously wealthy has become less important. In other parts of the world, you can be highly respected even if you are a man or woman of moderate means

(7) In the distant past, the Comet Shoemaker–Levy 9 impact hit earth. It wiped out life, as it blackened the skies, shutting out sunlight for two years, killing all life then. This is obviously what led to the wiping out of the dinosaurs. After that, a new world emerged in which we Homo sapiens became the dominant species

(8) We Africans need our own Comet moment that will revolutionary change the way we think. Fresh ideas that need to get etched into our collective skulls include - Being wealthy is no major achievement and is not an end in itself, to better ourselves, we have to think collectively, forward planning is compulsory for a nation and sacrifices need to be made if we are to progress as a people

(9) Once upon a time, having numerous wives was a status symbol and sign of prestige across Africa. Today, it not considered a big do. Once being wealthy becomes irrelevant like that, we will be on to a fresh start

(10) When is the political comet going to hit the African continent and wipe out the dark cloud of personal greed and materialism that hovers over the continent. Omar Al-Bashir’s actions are a reflection of the mindset of the typical African.
