PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari's supporters have inaugurated the southwest office of his campaign organisation involving the appointment of six coordinators for each of the six states in the geo-political zone.
Seen as the start of the next elections, the President Muhammadu Buhari 2019 Campaign Organisation inaugurated the office yesterday. Among those who were present at the inauguration were a former Nigeria ambassador to Qatar, Dr Bawa Abdullahi, a member of the organisation’s board of trustees Isaka Hassan, the group’s acting deputy national coordinator, Daniel Omofeso and its acting national secretary Deaconess Rita Solari Inko-Tariah.
National coordinator of the organisation, Danladi Pasalli, said the southwest had always played a prominent role in the politics of the country. He added that it was one of the pillars behind the success of the campaign organisation of President Buhari in the last presidential elections.
Mr Pasalli added: “We all know that the birthplace of this organisation is here in the southwest, as it was nursed and brought up here. The southwest have always supported the president whose pious concern is to reshape Nigeria and free it from all forms of unpatriotic activities.
"President Buhari is concerned with putting the country in a proper and realistic system so that the future of the next generation is guaranteed. We will not allow those who will suffer Nigerians to get to the throne, the masses will not allow them."
He said that President Buhari had made a tremendous recovery in London, adding that he would soon return to the country. According to Mr Pasalli, the organisation would, as part of its strategy to woo voters and assist farmers to get direct loans from the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Ahmed Ajibade, the patron of the organisation in the zone, said that even if President Buhari was not strong enough to withstand the campaign stress and pressure, the group would work to ensure his victory in the 2019 presidential elections. He added: “Everybody must rise in support of the president in his effort to transform Nigeria into a country of our dream.
"Buhari stands for honesty, simplicity and he is a straightforward person. He is the only one that is capable of transforming the country at this crucial time.”
