Bookmakers favour Hull City as the new odds-on favourite to sign Ahmed Musa

HULL City have now become the new favourites to sign Super Eagles winger Ahmed Musa from Leicester City with bookmakers slashing the clubs odds of signing the player to 3-1 over recent days.

Earlier this month, Leicester indicated that it was contemplating selling Musa to Premier League rivals West Bromwich Albion (WBA) having successfully secured the services of compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho from Manchester City. Iheanacho's signing meant that Musa was surplus to requirements at Leicester, so the club is now looking to offload him.

With the signing of Iheanacho, the Foxes have six strikers currently on their books as he joins Jamie Vardy, Islam Slimani, Shinji Okazaki, Leonardo Ulloa as well as Musa as attacking options. Although Musa joined Leicester City for £17m from CSKA Moscow last summer, he has been designated as the striker to make way after an underwhelming first season in England.

Hull are now top of the market ahead of WBA and previous favourites Fenerbahce. Turkish side Fenerbahce are understood to have made a £16m bid, while  West Brom are said to be interested  in taking Musa on a season-long loan.

Although Hull may also prefer a loan move, Leicester will want to recoup at least most of the £17m they shelled out for Musa last July. It is thus likely that the club will be holding out for an outright purchase.
