Pastor Joshua Iginla of Champions Royal assembly becomes latest pastorpreneur to acquire private jet

CHAMPIONS Royal Assembly founder Pastor Joshua Iginla has become the latest evangelical clergyman in Nigeria to purchase a private jet after he took delivery of the new aircraft during his recent birthday celebrations.

Pastor Iginla, who announced that he had acquired the jet yesterday during a sermon in Abuja on Sunday, is well known for an ostentatious lifestyle and generosity. In February for instance, he admitted that he bought a house worth over $1m in the US where his wife and children currently reside.

Two months ago, he also admitted to have cheated on his wife and impregnated another woman. Despite this, Pastor Iginla is well loved by his church members because he regularly doles our favours to members, sometimes handing  some of them cars.

Pastor Iginla now joins the ranks of Nigerian pastorprueners who own private jets alongside the likes of Apostle Johnson Suleiman, Bishop David Oyedepo, Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor. Pastor Iginla has defended the purchase, however, denying that it is ostentation.

He added: "Acquiring a private jet is not a luxury but borne out of necessity. Arguably, Nigerian prophets are among the most sought out globally, most times, they are needed in two or three countries in different continents in a day.

"Hence, there is need to create a very easy means of transportation for them, coupled with the fact that our transportation industry is still way behind, compare with other developed countries. That is why we see men of God purchasing private jets, not to show off but to make movement easy for them for evangelical and missionary purposes."
