Mourinho plans an audacious bid for Victor Osimhen as he sets his sights on raiding Lille

NEW Tottenham Hotspurs manager Jose Mourinho is lining up an audacious bid for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen as he prepared to launch a raid on the goalscorers; French club Lille prising away both coaching staff and players.

Earlier this week, Mourinhio was named as the Spurs boss following the surprise sacking of Mauricio Pochettino, who guided the club to the Uefa Champions League final last season. Immediately, Mourinho announced that two members of the Lille coaching staff will join his backroom team and it is now believed that this raid will extend to the players.

Mourinho is planning to use his good relationship with Lille director Luis Campos to snap up coaches Joao Sacramento and Nuno Santos. Once that has been confirmed over the coming days, Mourinho will now turn his attention to players, with plans to sign at least two of them in the January transfer window.

Osimhen is viewed as an ideal addition to the frontline, four years on from initial links with Spurs, due to his ability to play either as a central striker or a winger. Having scored seven goals in the French league so far this season, as well as finding the net against Chelsea in the Champions League, he is considered one of the hottest properties in Europe at the moment.

Mourinho is also said to be keen on defensive midfielder Boubakary Soumaré, who has also been a key component for Lille this season as they battle for a European place. Spurs had previously been interested in Ebere Eze, the Nigerian-born Queens Park Rangers playmaker but it is not clear if Mourinho is keen on bringing him to White Hart Lane.

If Osimhen comes to White hart Lane, however, he will most likely have to battle for a starting place with England skipper Harry Kane. This may not appeal to the striker, particularly as there are numerous other big European clubs, including Barcelona said to be interested in signing him.
