Bournemouth join the race to sign Ademola Lookman before transfer window closes

ENGLISH Premier League strugglers Bournemouth have reignited their interest in Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman with a view to bringing him to England during the current transfer window that closes later this week.

Lookman, 22, signed a five year deal with Bundesliga side Leipzig in the summer, making permanent his switch from Everton. He has dual nationality, so can play for both England and Nigeria but has previously featured for several England youth teams and was a member of the English U-20 team that won the 2017 Fifa World Cup.

Newcastle United are planning an audacious raid for Nigerian-born winger Ademola Lookman with a view to bringing him back to England from German side RB Leipzig during the current transfer window. Bournemouth, however, who are sitting in 18th place in the 20-team Premiership table, are hoping to beat the Magpies to the dashing winger whose creativity they will need in the fight against relegation.

Bournemouth had explored the possibility of signing the former England U20 star but missed out on his services to Leipzig last summer. One stumbling block to Bournemouth signing the winger before the transfer window closes on January 31 is that Leipzig may insist that any loan deal comes with an obligation to purchase him at the end of the season.

At the moment, Lookman is attracting interest from Premier League rivals Newcastle United and West Ham, both of who need to strengthen their teams.  Lookman has appeared in four matches for Leipzig so far this season, with his last start coming against Freiburg on October 26.
