Nigerian youngster Oladapo Afolayan signs three year deal with Premiership side West Ham

PROMISING Nigerian youngster Oladapo Afolayan has become the latest potential star to join an English Premier League club after he signed a three year deal with east London side West Ham.

Concluding the deal just before the closer of the January transfer deadline, Afolayan, 20, signed from the National League club, Solihul Moors after a short trial. He initially spent time with West Ham’s U-23 side, who are playing in the English League Two, before putting pen to paper on the deal.

Blessed with pace and an eye for goal, the 20-year-old will be hoping to re-enact same form that ‎saw him score goals for fun in the National League. Afolayan is eligible to represent England, the land of his birth and can also play for Nigeria.

He now joins the band of Nigerian players plying their trade in the English Premier league. These include Victor Moses at Chelsea, Alex Iwobi at Arsenal and Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho at Leicester City.
