ENGLISH Premiership giants Liverpool are said to be eyeing Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi with a view to signing him from his current club Leicester City at the end of the season.
One of the clubs with the greatest traditions and histories in English football, Liverpool have never won the Premier League in its current format since it was formed in 1992. In a desperate bid to end this drought, the club has stepped up its purchases of late and is due to sign several new players in the summer as it chases a league title.
Ndidi has often been touted as a target for the Reds and it seems they are genuinely considering a pursuit of the youngster in the summer, with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp claimed to be an admirer of the midfielder. Ndidi has been a major success at Leicester since arriving in England and has often been a standout performer for them over the course of the last 18 months.
Mr Klopp wants to recruit another central midfielder along with the incoming Naby Keita this summer, with Ndidi emerging as a potential option. Leicester will be keen to retain the services of their holding midfielder given his importance to the side but it seems a move certainly could be made by the Reds as they look to bolster their options in the middle of the park.
