ARSENAL manager Mikel Arteta has admitted it is inevitable that he will one day be sacked because the very nature of football is that the club's flying start to the season cannot last forever and it is only matter of time before the bubble bursts.
At the moment, Arsenal remain top of the English Premier League with 10 wins from their opening 12 fixtures. In what is a shock development, the club has confounded all the doubters, morale is currently sky-high around the Emirates and the Arsenal faithful are even daring to dream of a title triumph come the end of the season.
Mr Arteta has enjoyed a sensational start to this season, resulting him becoming the subject of all sorts of speculation with Barcelona even reported to be interested in his services. Although he may be the youngest boss in the English Premier League, he is experienced enough to know just how quickly things can change in elite-level management and as such has come to terms with the fact he will one day be axed from his post.
"I made a very conscious decision the day I decided to become a coach. I said being sacked will happen. Today, tomorrow, in a month's time, in 10 years' time, I don't know when it will happen. However, that cannot drive my emotion and this cannot be the reason why I do certain things or not," Arteta added.
Apparently, Arteta, the three-time English Premier League Manager of the Month award winner so far this season, is someone the Barcelona hierarchy have reportedly marked as a firm candidate' to replace Xavi in the seasons to come. According to media Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona have no interest in parting ways with Xavi before the end of this season, however, despite a humiliating Champions' League group stage exit off the back of a summer with plenty of investment.
