ENGLISH Premier League side Manchester United are planning a January transfer raid for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen in a desperate bid to sign him for want-away striker Cristiano Ronaldo.
Currently one of the hottest prop0rties in world football, Osimhen is highly sought-after by leading European clubs but Manchester United are now keen to sign him as a replacement for Ronaldo. Currently sitting fifth in the league table, Man United know that they will need to replace Ronaldo if they are to stand any chance of challenging for the title this season.
Osimhen, 23, is currently contracted to Italian side Napoli until 2025, having joined them from French club Lille in 2020 for a record fee of €70m. However, man United appear prepared to break the bank for him in a bid to get a striker who can replicate the feats of Erling Haaland at across town rivals.
Wirth Portuguese star Ronaldo expected to leave after the World Cup, Man United have stepped up the search for potential replacements, drawing up a shortlist that includes the likes of Osimhen and Kylian Mbappe. However, Osimhen is seen as a more attainable target in the January transfer window, as he is only valued at £60m, compared with Mbappe's £150m valuation.

Apart from Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have all reportedly shown an interest in signing Osimhen too. Napoli, however, are likely to demand a fee in the region of €100m to €110m for their star striker and even then, they are unlikely to want to let him go until the end of the season as they challenge for the Serie A title.
