NEWLY capped Super Eagles fullback Bright Osayi-Samuel has told his Turkish clubside Fenerbahce to sanction a move to the English Premier League if they receive a suitable offer for his services.
According to Turkish outlet Sporx, Osayi-Samuel, who is looking forward to returning to England, has communicated with the Fenerbahce management and conveyed his request to leave. Apparently, his agent has had some offers from unnamed English and Italian clubs but the player is keen on a return to England.
Osayi-Samuel, 24, joined Fenerbahce from Queens Park Rangers in January 2021 and has gone on to make 83 appearances in all competitions for the Istanbul club, registering three goals and six assists. This season, he has lost his place in the starting line-up, only making three starts from a possible 13 in the Turkish Super Lig.
This is one of the reasons why he wants to leave Fenerbahce and with his stock currently high after he made his international debut for Nigeria against Portugal, the defender is hoping to capitalise on it. A product of Blackpool's Academy, Osayi-Samuel has no English Premier League experience but previously played in the Championship, League One and League Two.
Last week, Osayi-Samuel, was one of the few bright sparks in Nigeria's 0-4 loss to Portugal in an international friendly. Osayi-Samuel, an Okija-born wingback has a contract with Fenerbahce until June 30, 2025.
