LEICESTER City manager Brendan Rodgers has included teenage goalkeeper of Nigerian descent Kelechi Chibueze in the club's squad that is travelling to Qatar for a warm weather training camp in Abu Dhabi
Due to the break precipitated by the World Cup, Leicester are holding a warm weather training camp in the United Arab Emirates as part of their preparations for the resumption of the Premier League after the mundial. Seven Leicester City players are taking part in the World Cup including Daniel Amartey (Ghana), Nampalys Mendy (Senegal), James Maddison (England), Wout Faes, Timothy Castagne and Youri Tielemans (Belgium).
Also in Qatar was Leicester and Wales goalkeeper Danny Ward, so Mr Rodgers has had to replace him in the squad. Although Wales have now been eliminated, Ward, like everyone else, will be given time off, opening the door for Chibueze to be named in the travelling squad.
A former Chelsea schoolboy, Chibueze, 18, is a member of Leicester City's development squad and will be aiming to catch the eye of Mr Rodgers during the training camp. he will be joining up with senior Nigeria internationals Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho, who have been training with the Leicester squad since Monday evening in Abu Dhabi.
