English Championship side Birmingham City look to offer Nigerian teenager Ogor his first contract

ENGLISH Championship side Birmingham City have opened contract talks with Nigerian central defender Chris Ogor with a view to extending his stay at the St Andrew's Stadium after impressive performances for the club's U18 and U21 teams.

Considered one of the brightest talents in the Birmingham City academy, Ogor has been invited to train with the first team on multiple occasions this season.  Birmingham City are hopeful the young Nigerian who is only 17,  will sign his first professional contract with the club at the end of negotiations.

Highly versatile, Ogor, who  is capable of playing as a left-back, left wing-back and left-sided central defender, has cited Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk as his role model.  He played as a schoolboy at Liverpool for five years before switching to Birmingham City in 2021.

Standing at six feet one inch tall, Ogor is quick, strong, has good passing ability and is fairly decent in terms of technicality and aggressive in his style play. Born to Nigerian parents, Ogor is eligible to represent both England and Nigeria at international level.
