Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council donates rice and flour to Zamfara Christians

LEADERS of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in Zamfara State have donated 1,000 bags of rice and flour to Christians in the area as they celebrate the festive season and the ushering in of the new year.

Yusuf Idris Gusau, the APC publicity secretary in the state, said that the food items, which comprised of 250 bags of rice and 750 bags of maize flour were handed over to the Christian community in the state by the coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa. He added that the gesture was aimed at allowing the Christian community to celebrate the festive season in style.

Senator Marafa called on the beneficiaries at the event which held at the Zamfara Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Complex along Sokoto Bypass Road to ensure that the gesture reached a majority of Christians especially those in need. He echoed the belief of both Asiwaju Tinubu and Senator Shettima as well as the northwest campaign council zonal coordinator, Governor Bello Matawalle, that as religious adherents, the Christian community will contribute in creating more awareness on the candidature of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential and vice presidential candidates as well as the state APC governorship candidature of Governor Matawalle and their ability to move the nation and the state to greater heights.

In addition, Senator Marafa called on them to continue to pray for the growth, development, security, peace and unity of the nation and the state beyond the coming general elections. Receiving the items, the state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria Ahmad Haruna Gidan Zallah and the Igbo community leader in the state Chief Igwe Obijiafor, commended the Tinubu Campaign Council for the gesture and promised to extend it to the intended beneficiaries.

Both leaders also assured that the Christian community will always pray for the growth and wellbeing of Nigeria and Nigerians. Senator Marafa was supported at the event by members of the APC Presidential Campaign Council including the Zamfara State APC chairman, Hon Tukur Umar Danfulani; the secretary to the state government, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe, the head of service, Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Gayeri and the chief of staff to the governor.
