ENGLISH Premier League side Nottingham Forest have loaned out promising Nigerian fullback Osa Solomon to non-league side Redditch United for the remainder of the season in the latest development in the January transfer window.
Solomon, 19, has joined the Southern League Premier Division Central club for the remainder of the 2022/23 season. A promising overlapping fulback, Solomon recently returned to full fitness after recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury which kept him out of action for several months.
Ahead of his loan move to the Worcestershire outfit, he has been training with Nottingham Forest's development squad but a deal has now finally been secured. Under the terms of the loan agreement between the two clubs, Solomon will be allowed to train with Nottingham Forest U21s on the days he is not with Redditch United.
Solomon, who has started training with his new teammates at Redditch United, is predominantly a right fullback but can also be used in central defence. He has been described as a defender who is good in one-versus-one situations, heading and tackling.
Redditch United face Bromsgrove Sporting in their next competitive game on Saturday, January 28 at the Trico Stadium. Solomon, born in Ireland to a Nigerian father, is eligible to play for three countries and has so far featured for Ireland's U19 team.
