NIGERIA-eligible teenage striker Victor Musa is knocking on the doors of the Manchester United first team after putting in scintillating performances with the club's U18 squad where he has scored in successive back-to-back matches.
Eligible to play for three different nations because he is Anglo-Spanish-Nigerian, Musa scored his first competitive goal for Manchester United U18s in a 3-3 draw at Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend. He then followed that up with another goal in a 1-1 draw with Derby County this afternoon.
In the match, Derby County opened the scoring in the 24th minute through Dajaune Brown, who capitalised on a defensive error and slotted the ball into the far corner. However, With 12 minutes left on the clock, Musa drew his team level when he had the simplest of tasks to tap the ball into an open goal after a lovely pass from Ethan Williams.
Compatriot Bayo Fapetu featured for the entire game for Derby County in midfield, so maybe someone the Nigerian Football Federation want to look at too. Musa, 16, has represented Spain and England at youth level, so will need to go through a switch with global footballing body Fifa if he opts to play for the Super Eagles.
