NIGERIAN striker Victor Adeboyejo scored his first goal for Bolton Wanderers this weekend finding the back of the net in a 2-1 victory over Port Vale in an English Football League One match yesterday.
Adeboyejo, 25, a former Arsenal schoolboy arrived at Bolton Wanderers with a huge reputation after scoring13 goals in 34 matches for Burton Albion in the first half of the season. After firing blanks in his first five games as a Bolton Wanderers player, Adeboyejo netted a crucial equaliser in the first half against Port Vale yesterday, cancelling out Ellis Harrison's opening goal.
He headed the ball past goalkeeper Aidan Stone after the ball was chipped into the penalty box by Randell Williams in the 18th minute. Adeboyejo was also involved in the build-up to Bolton Wanderers' winning goal, teeing up Josh Sheehan, who fired home from the edge of the box in the 28th minute.
Meanwhile, Manchester United loanee Shola Shoretire is still searching for his first senior goal for Bolton Wanderers. He started and was in action for 45 minutes against Port Vale, partnering Adeboyejo in attack in the first half.
Apart from Cambridge United, Adeboyejo has scored for all the other teams he has represented in his professional career, including Barnsley, Burton Albion, Bristol Rovers and Leyton Orient. Bolton Wanderers clocked up their 18th league win of the season against Port Vale and sit fourth in the League One table.
