NFF president congratulates three football administrators elected to the National Assembly

NIGERIAN Football Federation (NFF) president Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau has sent congratulatory messages to three members of the country's footballing fraternity who have just been elected to the National Assembly.

 

On Saturday, Nigerians went to the polls to elect a president and members of the senate and Federal House of Representatives. With results now announced, Alhaji Aminu Kurfi, the chairman of the Katsina State Football Association and chair of the NFF Committee on Youth Competitions, was elected to the House of Representatives as the lawmaker for the Dutsinma/Kurfi Federal Constituency on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

 

Similarly, running on the platform of Labour Party, the general manager of Remo Stars Football Club, Ekene Adams beat all other contestants to win a seat to the House of Representatives, representing the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in Kaduna State. Also elected was Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, the proprietor of FC Ifeanyi Ubah who returns to the Senate having won the Anambra South Senatorial District under the flag of the Young Peoples’ Party.

 

Alhaji Gusau said: “We are happy at the triumphs of these members of the Nigeria football family. We heartily congratulate them and wish them the very best as they become federal legislators with the opportunities to initiate legislation that will favour football and other sectors of Nigerian life.

 

 “We will continue to pray for them so that God will give them the wisdom, knowledge and understanding to work assiduously for the development and real growth of Nigeria football while in the 10th session of the National Assembly.”
