I would like to see Bola Ahmed Tinubu pledge to initiate the following steps to combat the scourge of kidnapping across Nigeria

[1] We will impose an indefinite ban on mosque construction across northern Nigeria, insisting that all such funds go towards school construction

[2] Jail the parents of any Almajiris or out-of-school kids for a minimum of five year

[3] We will impose a 40% education tax on all mosques across northern Nigeria

[4] We will seize the private jets of all northern Nigerian politicians and auction them off. I will then use the proceeds to build schools to eradicate illiteracy

[5] I will send to the National Assembly legislation reversing Sharia law so teachers are no longer afraid to go and work in northern Nigeria

[6] I will pass laws making it compulsory to build at least one technical college in every local government across northern Nigeria

[7] I will place a 10 moratorium on the turbaning of emirs across northern Nigeria. This will be reviewed if after a decade when the educational divide between the north and south has narrowed

[8] I will set Islamic finance investment targets for all the governors of the 19 northern states. At the very least, every governor must attract a minimum of $1bn in investment annually

[9] I will place a 10 year moratorium on state governments subsidising hajj pilgrimages. Spend that money on education instead

[10] I will open youth boot camps for all convicted criminals across northern Nigeria where everyone is trained vocationally up to City & Guild level
