Nigerian teenage sensation Thompson Ishaka signs two year deal with Glasgow Rangers

SCOTTISH Premier League giants Glasgow Rangers have signed up Nigerian teenage sensation Thompson Ishaka after he successfully underwent trials at the club agreeing a two-year contract with him.

Over the last few weeks, Ishaka has been having trials at Auchenhowie, the Rangers training ground, during which time he has received admiring glances from English Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester City, as well as Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven. Scottish football analyst Tam McManus, said that Ishaka, 18, has agreed terms on a two-year contract with Glasgow Rangers.

According to Mr McManus, he is very impressed with Ishaka having seen him play. He added that Ishaka is set to play for the Rangers B team for now but will break into the senior squad at Ibrox soon.

Mr McManus said: “It seems to be a coup. I’ve not seen a lot of him but he’s signed a contract until 2025. I’ve seen some clips of him on social media and he looks good and it could be a bit of a coup for Rangers if they can get him into the first team.

"I know he’s probably going to be playing with the B team but he’s just got to try and get into the senior team, so if he does that and he plays, there’ll be some big offers for him. If he’s wanted by clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City, there must be something about him but Rangers will want him to try and get into the first team as quickly as possible."

On April 2, Ishaka started for Rangers’ B team in a clash with Celtic B at Ibrox, wearing the number seven shirt, before he was substituted in the 43rd minute. Celtic B won the controversial Scottish Lowland Football League game 3-1.
