SUPER Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho could be on his way to Italy soon as Serie A giants Inter Milan and monitoring him with a view to making a summer bid to Leicester City for his services.
Iheanacho, 26, is expected to leave Leicester City at the end of the season as he only has one year left on his contract. To make matters worse, the club is facing the prospect of being relegated from the Premier League, so numerous club are hovering over its best players but it appears that the club is resigned to losing Iheanacho, so could accept an Inter Milan offer.
Iheanacho has proved to be a key part of the Foxes squad since arriving from Manchester City in 2017, despite fellow forward Jamie Vardy often taking centre stage. Even throughout the club's struggles this season Iheanacho has provided 12 goal contributions in all competitions, with only 11 of his 33 appearances coming as part of the starting 11.
In total, he has made 204 appearances for Leicester City since moving there from Manchester City, scoring 55 goals and creating 32 assists. Inter Milan, according to Football Insider, is willing to sell Lautaro Martinez this summer in order to raise funds for the summer transfer window.
However, they are in a hot chase for a perfect replacement for the Argentine striker if they eventually sell off the forward and Iheanacho fits the bill perfectly. Leicester, who moved up to 16th in the league table following their recent draw with Everton, are in for a big summer with several players’ contracts about to expire.
