SUPER Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze has now become the subject of a ferocious European bidding war with his Spanish club Villarreal demanding €80m for his services as English Premier League clubs West Ham and Aston Villa seek to sign him.
Over the last few days, Real Madrid have opened talks with Villarreal for Chuwueze's services, bringing to three the number of clubs eager to sign him during the forthcoming transfer window. Chukwueze has been on the radar of Real Madrid since the turn of the year but transfer talks intensified after he scored two goals against them when both teams met at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Chukwueze’s contract at Villarreal expires at the end of next season but he is unwilling to extend his stay at the club. West Ham and Aston Villa are two of the clubs interested in signing him,. with the likes of Tottenham or Arsenal also said to be watching the winger closely too.
However, Chukwueze, 24, may remain in Spain, as Spanish outlet media AS Diario reports that Real Madrid are keen on signing him. Former Villarreal manager, Unai Emery, who currently manages Aston Villa, is said to be willing to buy out Chukwueze's clause, which places a price tag of €50m on him, but Villarreal are likely to as for significantly more than this.
