Tinubu hold his first meeting with all 36 state governors following Akume's swearing-in

PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has hosted his first meeting of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) at the presidential villa in what was the inaugural function of the new secretary to the federal government Senator George Akume who was sworn-in today.

 

Earlier this morning, President Tinubu swore-in Senator Akume, who took his oath of allegiance and oath of office in the presence of government officials. Immediately he assumed office, Senator Akume, a former Benue State governor, swung into action, acting as scribe for the meeting with the governors.

 

Among those present at the swearing-in were vice president Kashim Shettima, senate president Ahmed Lawan and the NGF chairman Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State. Also present were the head of the civil service of the federation, Dr FolasadeYemi-Esan and Senator Akume's spouse of Regina.

 

President Tinubu also recently appointed the outgoing speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, as his new chief of staff, while the former deputy governor of Jigawa State, Senator Ibrahim Hadejia, was appointed as deputy chief of staff. it is expected that they too will be officially sworn-in once the new National Assembly is inaugurated.
