PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of eight special advisers as p[art of the ongoing establishment of a new government as he seeks to settle into office following the May 29 handover.
Earlier today, President Tinubu announced the appointment of Dele Alake as his special adviser on special duties communications and strategy. It was one of several appointments that included Yau Darazo being named as special adviser on political and inter-governmental affairs, with Wale Edun named as special adviser on monetary policies and Olu Verheijen appointed as special adviser, on energy.
Others include Zachaeus Adedeji, the special adviser on revenue and Nuhu Ribadu, the former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission chairman, who was appointed as the special adviser on security. Other appointees include John Ugochukwu Uwajumogu, the special adviser on industry, trade and investment and Dr Mrs Salma Ibrahim Anas, the new special adviser on health.
Last week, the National Assembly approved the appointment of 20 special advisers for President Tinubu. According to a State House director of information Abiodun Oladunjoye, eight of these positions have now been filled.
