Everton and Burnley join the race to sign Iheanacho from Leicester following their relegation

ENGLISH Premier League sides Everton and Burnley have expressed an interest in signing Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho from Leicester City during the forthcoming summer transfer window.

Over recent weeks, Iheanacho has attracted a lot of interest following Leicester's relegation at the end of the recently-concluded season and the Foxes may be inclined to offload him over the coming months. Nottingham Forest have already expressed an interest in the striker but Burnley and Everton have now entered the fray.

Last season, Iheanacho, 26, scored five goals in the Premier League for Leicester City and also had an incredible record in the English FA Cup. He stands as Nigeria’s all-time leading goalscorer in the tournament, ranking ninth overall in England with a remarkable tally of 18 goals in just 26 appearances.

As the race for Iheanacho’s signature intensifies, the striker finds himself at the centre of attention, with Everton and Burnley vying to secure his services for their respective squads. Should Iheanacho join Everton, he would share the same dressing room with international teammate Alex Iwobi, who has been with the Toffees since the summer of 2019, joining from Arsenal for over €30m.
