Jamilu Collins returns to training with Cardiff City after nine month absence due to knee injury

SUPER Eagles leftback Jamilu Collins has returned to training with English Championship side Cardiff City ahead of the forthcoming 2023/24 season after a nine-month absence due to a knee injury.

Collins, 28, got injured at the very start of last season and had to then sit out the whole of the 2022/23 campaign, recovering from an operation. This week, Collins resumed training with his Cardiff City team mates as the club prepares for a series of pre-season friendly matches ahead of the forthcoming campaign.

In an uplifting video shared on Cardiff City’s official Instagram page, Collins was seen entering the training pitch with a bag full of balls, sporting a beaming smile. With a playful bounce of one of the balls, he joined his teammates on the pitch, demonstrating his determination to contribute to the club’s promotion campaign to the Premier League.

Having earned his first national team call-up back in 2018 for an African Cup of Nations qualifying game against Seychelles, Collins also aspires to secure a spot in the Super Eagles squad ahead of the continental tournament in Ivory Coast next year. With his return to training, Cardiff City fans can look forward to witnessing his dynamic performances that saw him gallop up and down the flanks once again.
