ENGLISH Premier League giants Chelsea look set to loan out Nigeria-eligible midfielder Faustino Anjorin as part of a major clearout that involves the club getting rid of all those players that fail to see first team action.
Anjorin, 21, had an injury-plagued season in the Championship during the last campaign, which limited his appearances for Huddersfield Town, where he was on loan. According to Football.London, Chelsea who have sanctioned the sale of several first team players in the summer transfer window, are, however, open to sanctioning a loan move for the talented midfielder.
Last season, Anjorin suffered from an ankle injury but now he and is back and has begun training at Chelsea's Cobham training ground alongside other players who have returned from loan spells. Already, he is attracting interest from clubs in England, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and Scotland.
With several teams interested in Anjorin, Chelsea are willing to loan him but the club have no plans of selling him this summer. Anjorin officially joined Chelsea's at U9 team, rising through the youth team ranks before making his senior debut in a Carabao Cup clash against Grimsby Town in September 2019 at the age of 17.
Playing at the highest level, Anjorin has 31 games under his belt for Chelsea, Lokomotiv Moscow and Huddersfield Town. Between 2018 and 2019, he represented England at under-17, U18 and U19 levels, so will need to undergo a switch with Fifa to represent Nigeria.
