Three English Championship sides look to sign former Flying Eagles striker Akor Adams

FORMER Flying Eagles striker Akor Adams could be coming over the coming weeks as several English Championship sides are looking to sign him before the closure of the current transfer window.

Adams, 23, who featured for the Flying Eagles at the 2019 U-20 World Cup, currently plies his trade with Norwegian side Lillestrøm. He has had a very successful season, scoring 15 goals and providing two assists in 15 games, which has caught the eye and attracted potential buyers from across Europe.

English Championship sides, Watford, Middlesbrough and Leicester City have all expressed an interest in the striker. There are also several clubs in Belgium and Germany that have expressed an interest in Adams and Lillestrøm  appear open to the idea of selling him if they get the right price.

Jupiler Pro League side Oud-Heverlee Leuven had a bid rejected for the Nigerian striker some weeks ago and will now have to slug it out with Watford, Leicester City and Middlesbrough. These three English clubs could make do with the services of the striker as they seek to get promoted to the Premier League next season.

Adams joined Lillestrøm in 2021 and has registered 28 goals and seven assists in 50 appearances for the club. Three years before that in August 2018, he joined Norwegian side Sogndal from the Jamba Football Academy in Nigeria and has gradually risen up the ranks.
