NIGERIAN health officials have told the World Health Organisation (WHO) that they are interested in participating in the trials of vaccines for the coronavirus pandemic and would even supply volunteers to participate in the project.

(1) To be recognised as a sovereign nation you must have a gross domestic product (GDP) that is at least 50 times the size of your population. For instance, a country of 200m people should at the very least have a GDP of $1trn
(2) A nation should be able to meet at least 70% of its food needs through domestic production
(3) A nation must be self-sufficient when it comes to the production of health and medical equipment

INTENSIVE care nurse Adekunle Enitan has become the latest Nigerian to succumb to the dreaded coronavirus pandemic in the UK after giving up the ghost at the William Harvey Hospital in Kent where he worked.
Mr Enitan, 55, popularly known as Ade, who was a father of two children, had worked at the hospital in Ashford for five years. He has been described by colleagues as a kind, cheery soul who went above and beyond to care for patients.
