President Tinubu needs to be audacious and send a Nigerian Luxury Goods Tax Bill to the National Assembly if he is serious about raising revenue to get us out of this current mess

[1] A database will be drawn up to determine what are luxury goods. This will include designer clothing, jewellery, automobiles, footwear and fashion accessories. All such items will be subject to a minimum 20% luxury goods tax at the point of purchase

[2] All private jets will be subject to an annual tax worth 40% of their value

[3] All luxury cars from manufacturers such as Rolls Royce, Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, etc, will be subject to an annual tax worth 10% of their value

[4] A 200% tariff will be placed on the importation of branded luxury items from the likes of Luis Vuitton, Gucci, Armani, . Dolce & Gabbana, Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Hermes, Versace and Chanel

[5] A second homes tax representing 10% of the values of these properties will also be introduced

[6] A second wives tax will be levied on anyone who marries more than one wife. This tax will involve a flat fee, similar to an Owambe Tax levied on those who hold street parties

[7] All tithe and Zakat offerings will be subject to a 30% faith tax

[8] Foreign parties held in exotic locations like the United Arab Emirates and the Caribbean wil be subject to a 100% tax

[9] All religious pilgrimages will also be subject to a 30% faith tax

[10] All chieftaincy titles and traditional monarchies will be subject to a 30% feudal tax
