Russians mob Super Eagles for selfies as the team basks in the tag of World Cup fashionistas

RUSSIAN football fans have been mobbing Nigeria's Super Eagles over the last 24 hours pleading with team members to pose for selfies with them as the squad set the tournament alight with its flashy kit described as the best of all the 32 participants.

On Monday night, the Eagles flew into Russia at around 11pm and immediately proceeded to their base camp at Yessentuki, the cultural capital of Russia's Greek population. This morning the team held its first main training session and squad members were besieged by Russians wanting to take photographs with them.

Most football followers believe that Nigeria has the best jersey of all the 32 nations participating in the World Cup and it is thus no surprise that demand for the kit has been huge. To add to the image of Nigeria being the fashionistas of the World Cup, the native green and white attire which the team arrived in has also excited everyone.

Arguably the most stylish team in the World Cup based on their playing strip, Nigeria has upped the ante ahead of the tournament kick-off with some visually stunning additions to their wardrobes. So far the Super Eagles have turned heads with their chevron-patterned, two-tone green playing kit, voted the favourite of all the kits on show at the World Cup this year.

After touching down in Russia ahead of their opening clash with Croatia in Kaliningrad this weekend, the Eagles showed off their new travel wear on social media. Nigeria appears to be taking the mantra look good, feel good, play good to a whole new level as the Eagles stepped off the plane wearing white suits with green trim, complete with white loafers and hats.

There is even a floral motif on the team's travel tracksuit, something that has caught the eye of opposition players. Nigeria's off-field kit alone should be enough for most neutrals to cheer the Eagles on in the tournament.
