Controversial celebrity blogger Linda Ikeji gives birth to a baby boy in Atlanta hospital

NIGERIAN celebrity blogger Linda Ikeji whose recent pregnancy caused a lot of controversy due to the fact that getting pregnant outside wedlock contravened everything she had campaigned against as a feminist has given birth to a baby boy in an Atlanta hospital.

By far Nigeria's most successful blogger, Ms Ikeji, 36 has a large following among young women and she has always advised them to stay away from pre-marital sex and stay celibate. In May this year, however, Ms Ikeji shocked the whole world when she posted pictures of herself six months pregnant, on the Internet.

Her critics latched on to the pictures to label Ms Ikeji a hypocrite, saying she has refused to practise what she preaches as she is not married. For now, no one even knows the identity of her partner and speculation is mounting as to who the father of her baby could be but ignoring the hype, Ms Ikeji said she does not regret her actions.

Over the weekend, Ms Ikeji posted pictures of herself on a hospital bed with her son, expressing her delight on her Instagram handle. She thanked her teeming fans for all their support.

Ms Ikeji wrote:  “Oh dear Lord, I am a mum, baby J is here! . He was born today 17th September, this is so surreal.

"Thank you guys so much for the love through this journey and thanks for all the well wishes. Love you guys."

Music producer Michael Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has denied being the father of the expected baby of his long-time crush. Following speculation that Don Jazzy was the father of the baby after the news of the pregnancy broke, he went on his Twitter handle to refute the claims.
