Rohr invites Watford striker Isaac Success to camp for Nations Cup friendly against Libya

WATFORD striker Isaac Success appears to have revived his international career after Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr called him up for Nigeria's forthcoming African Nations Cup qualifier against Libya later this month.

Success, 22, originally joined Watford On July 1 2016, signing a five-year deal in a record transfer fee, estimated at around £12.5m. However, his career stalled after that as he only scored once in 19 appearances in the 2016/17 season and after just one appearance in the 2017/18 campaign, he was loaned out to Spanish side Malaga on January 31 this year.

At the start of the new season though, Success returned to Watford and is gradually starting to work his way into the first team with substitute appearances on league matches. he is now hoping to revive his international career too after missing out on the 2018 World Cup due to a combination of poor form, injury and youthful indiscretions.

On October 10, Nigeria will host Libya in a Nations Cup qualifier taking place in Uyo and tomorrow, Coach Rohr is expected to announce his full list of players for the match. Success last played for Nigeria in 2017 in a friendly game against Senegal and despite impressing after coming on as a second half substitute, injuries, fitness and poor form has kept him out of the side.

Coach Rohr is said to be a big fan of Success due to his physical attributes and ability to play both as a targetman and a wide forward. Last month, Nigeria beat Seychelles 3-0 in an African Nations Cup qualifier, reviving their hopes of qualifying for Cameroon 2019.
