Omeruo says he will be back to action for Leganes as all he suffered over the weekend was cramp

SUPER Eagles centreback Kenneth Omeruo has revealed that he will soon be back in action despite limping off over the weekend during a league match stating that he did not suffer any major injury as all he had was cramp.

Omeruo, 25, made his full Spanish league debut over the weekend, starting for his new clubside Leganes in their 1-1 draw at Valencia. However, the Chelsea loanee was replaced in the 70th minute with Leganes still leading the hosts1-0, having picked up an injury.

“I got injured and I had to be replaced but the injury is not serious, it was just a cramp and soon I will be back playing again.  We almost ran away with the victory but unfortunately we conceded a late goal.

"A point is better than nothing and it is a good thing that I am getting playing time. I was eager to start playing and when the opportunity came I took it," Omeruo added.

Highly rated Omeruo joined Chelsea in January 2012 as a teenager and was loaned out to Dutch Eredivisie side Ado Den Haag immediately and has since been loaned out to several other clubs across Europe. Once heralded as a new sweeper in the mould of Joseph Yobo, Omeruo has one year left on his current Chelsea contract and will now spend it playing in the Spanish league.
