APC publishes the list of its 2019 Buhari presidential campaign team as it prepares for polls

NIGERIA'S ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has published the details of its Presidential Campaign Council for the 2019 elections as it begins campaigning for next February's polls.

In a move which caught political observers by surprise, presidential spokesman Femi Adesina, published the full list of the members of the council, which included businessmen Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola. President Buhari himself will chair the campaign committee, which includes all of the party's bigwhigs and state governors.

Details released by Mr Adesina include President Muhammadu Buhari as chairman with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as co-chairman. Vice president Professor Yemi Osinbajo and APC national chairman Adams Oshiomhole will serve as deputy chairmen, with Senator George Akume serving as vice chairman north and Senator Ken Nnamani acting as vice chairman south.

Transport minister Rotimi Amaechi will serve as director-general, while Senator Olurunnimbe Mamora will be deputy director general operations, with Waziri Bulama serving as deputy director general coordination. Adamu Adamu will be the secretary, assisted by Dele Alake with the zonal directors will be Senator Aliyu Wamakko (northwest), Senator Ali Ndume (northeast), Senator Abdullahi Adamu (north central), Sola Oke (south west), Sharon Ikeazor (southeast) and Senator Godswill Akpabio (south south).
