PDP presidential campaign spokesman Buba Galadima released from custody by securitymen

PEOPLES Democratic Party (PDP) campaign spokesman Alhaji Buba Galadima has been released from custody after spending the last few days in detention where he was questioned over a video he produced.

A former ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, Alhaji Galadima defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) last year and joined the opposition PDP. In the run-up to last Saturday's election, he was the public face of the PDP presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar but after the polls, he was arrested by securitymen.

Alhaji Galadima was said to have been arrested by security agents after a video of him surfaced in which he was making what was considered inflammatory statements. Apparently, in the video, he was speaking on the results of the presidential election released so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission (Inec).

According to reports, the security operatives said the statement was considered to be inciting and capable of instigating violence. However, he has now been released and yesterday, was sighted at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja at a press conference addressed by Alhaji Abubakar.
