Flying Eagles central midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru signs six year deal with Watford

ENGLISH Premier League side Watford have signed Flying Eagles midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru from Manchester City on a six-year contract in a move that will enable him to team up with compatriot Isaac Success.

Tom Dele-Bashiru, 19, featured for Nigeria in the recent U-20 World Cup in Poland, scoring the Flying Eagles' third goal in their opening 4-0 victory over Qatar. Prior to that, he had featured for England's U16 team but made the switch with Fifa, enabling him to represent Nigeria.

Watford have even gone as far as stating that Dele-Bashiru has been signed as a first-team recruit and not as a youth player. A powerful holding midfielder, he made his senior debut with Manchester City in the Carabao Cup against Leicester City in December 2017 when he came off the bench to replace Phil Foden.

During his time with Manchester City, he gained experience of European football in the UEFA Youth League, while also featuring in the Premier League too. Dele-Bashiru is Watford's second recruit this summer transfer window after Craig Dawson was signed from from West Bromwich Albion.
