Nigerian teenager Miguel Azeez signs three year professional contract with Arsenal

ENGLISH Premier League giants Arsenal have signed Nigerian-born left-sided attacking midfielder Miguel Azeez offering him a three year contract with an option to extend it for a further two years if he excels.

Azeez, 17, is of Nigerian extraction but has represented England youth team at under-17 level, scoring 12 goals in 14 appearances. Now a fully fledged professional, it is only a matter of time before he too becomes the subject of a tug of war between England and Nigeria as both nations will want his services as senior international level.

Arsenal confirmed that Azeez, a Hale End Academy product has signed his first professional contract with the club. Azeez, who joined the Gunners’ academy at the tender age of five, has played six league matches for the Arsenal U18 team so far this season, with a goal to his name and has also made an appearance for Steve Bould's U23 team.

"It is a dream come true. Since the day I came to this club it’s been my dream to sign my first professional contract and I’m so happy that I’ve been able to do this. I thank everyone for the journey and just keeping me grounded every day,” Azeez said.
