Ekiti police arrest one of their colleagues after his lover dies during sex in Ado Ekiti

MEN of the Ekiti State Police Command have arrested one of their colleagues after he fled following the death of his lover in Ado Ekiti when she gave up the ghost during a passionate love-making encounter.

Yet to be name, the policeman is said to work in Lagos but came to Ado Ekiti to meet his lover and they hooked up in a hotel. On Wednesday, however, things went sour when the lady died while they were making love in their hotel room, forcing the policeman to flee but the matter was reported to the Oke Ila Divisional Police Station in Ado Ekiti, leading to launching of a manhunt.

Police spokesman Sunday Abutu said: “The lady died inside her room and one of her neighbours reported at our office at Oke Ila in Ado Ekiti. Our detectives immediately visited the house and saw the lifeless body of the lady.

"The body has been evacuated and taken to the morgue of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital. We are yet to know whether he is a policeman or not, so let us wait for the outcome of our investigation, as it will reveal all that."

He added that the suspect has been arrested and is currently being detained while the investigations continue. According to Mr Abutu, the identity of the man and his profession remained sketchy.
