Victor Moses could be out for up to six weeks as he limps off with suspected hamstring injury

SUPER Eagles winger Victor Moses could be out of action for up to six weeks after limping off in an English Premiership game yesterday with a suspected hamstring injury at a game which Chelsea lost to Crystal Palace 1-2 at Selhurst Park.

Moses has started six of Chelsea’s eight Premier League matches this term, after becoming a fixture in the Blues line-up during their title-winning campaign last season. However, yesterday, he limped off early in the first half clutching his hamstring and it is feared that not only will he miss at least five Premiership games but also Nigeria's World Cup qualification game against Algeria next month.

Chelsea coach Antonio Conte already has Alvaro Morata, Danny Drinkwater and N’Golo Kante on the injury list. Apart from the injury to Moses, yesterday's woes were compounded by the fact that Chelsea lost in what was Crystal Palace's first win of the current season.

In yesterday’s game Wilfried Zaha, who was making his first appearance for the Eagles since suffering an injury on the opening day of the season, gave Chelsea much to chew as his shot at goal bounced off Cesar Azpilicueta for the first goal of the match, which was also Crystal Palace’s first goal of the season. Tiemoue Bakayoko cancelled out Palace’s opener but a short while after Moses was forced from the field, Palace went in front again.

Mr Conte said: “I think this moment for us  is a very difficult moment. When you start the game without Morata and Kante it is not simple and then another important player gets an injury like Moses.

I hope to have him very soon, in this moment it is very difficult for us. We lose three or four players and it is a big problem for us."
