Fulham plan to offer Aina, Lookman and Maja permanent deals if they avoid relegation

ENGLISH Premier League side Fulham is planning to sign Super Eagles duo Ola Aina and Josh Maja alongside compatriot Ademola Lookman permanently at the end of the season so long as the club manages to avoid relegation and remain in the elite division.

Striker Maja, 22, joined Fulham on loan from French club Bordeaux in January on loan for the rest of the season as the west London side sought to strengthen its attack. Aina, 24, is also on loan from Italian side Torino, who originally bought him from Chelsea for €10m with the option of making the deal permanent.

Featuring more Nigerian-born players than any other Premier League club, apart from Maja and Aina, Fulham also have centreback Tosin Adarabioyo and winger Ademola Lookman on its books. Only Adarabioyo was bought outright, with all the others being got on loan and Fulham is confident it can convince all its seven loan players to stay provided they escape relegation.

Lookman joined Fulham from German side RB Leipzig on loan last summer but no purchase clause was included into the deal taking him to the club. However, an option to buy Aina for €12.5m was included in his contract while Fulham will have to shell out €10m for Maja.

Statistically, Lookman has been Fulham's most decisive player in the Premier League this term, with a goal involvement of seven in 25 appearances. With 10 games left to the end of the season, only goals difference is keeping Scott Parker's team in the relegation zone as Fulham they have the same number of points as Brighton & Hove who are 17th in the table.

Of all the Fulham players, however, only Aina has been invited to camp for the forthcoming African Nations Cup  qualifiers against Benin Republic later this month. Maja, who has featured for the Super Eagles before has been dropped, while it is not yet clear of Lookman has been granted clearance by Fifa and Adarabioyo appears to have chosen England over Nigeria.
