Chris Okotie dismisses TB Joshua saying he was not a man of God but a magician and false prophet

HOUSEHOLD of God Church International Ministries founder Pastor Chris Okotie has dismissed the late leader of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (Scoan) Prophet TB Joshua as a magicians and a false prophet.

Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, one of a new breed of millionaire Nigerian evangelical clergymen  popularly known as TB Joshua passed away in early June suddenly. At the time, many religious watchers expressed concern that Nigeria's major evangelical clergymen did not comment on the recent death of one of their own.

Among these include Pastor Chris Okotie,  Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor William Kumuyi of Deeper Life Bible Church, Bishop David Oyedepo of Winners Chapel, Pastor Paul Enenche and Pastor Chris Oyakilome. Now, Pastor Okotie has thrown the cat among the pigeons by stating that Prophet Joshua was a false prophet who achieved his ambition as a magician.

He also attacked Prophet Joshua's philanthropic gestures, saying that he did it to model himself after a biblical pattern, claiming he was a deceptive magician who just carried the bible around. According to Pastor Okotie, Prophet Joshua fulfilled a biblical pattern of Bar-Jesus, a false prophet who equated himself with Jesus.

Pastor Okotie said: “What is the truth about TB Joshua? Who was he? Was he a product of Christianity? Or a practitioner of shamanism? Was he a servant of the Lord Jesus? Or some itinerant religious quack?"

“You say why because the patterns determine the flow of power and authenticity of that enterprise. He is a magician, a sorcerer and calls himself a prophet. Notice Joshua doesn’t call himself an apostle, he doesn’t call himself a teacher and he doesn’t call himself a pastor because if he calls himself by any other name outside of prophet, he does not fulfil the pattern.

“So, he must stick with that appellation. He is a magician who claims to be a prophet but he is a false prophet.”

Despite this, another clergyman, Apostle Paul Me, produced a video on social media in which he prophesied the death of Prophet TB Joshua. According to Apostle Paul in a prophecy in May, God showed him a vision of the end time and he saw six angels that were sent from heaven to bring Prophet TB Joshua.

He said he heard the voice of God telling the angels to collect a trophy the preacher held and put him where he belongs as he has fulfilled his purpose in life. Up until his death, Prophet Joshua was not a member of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and neither was he a member of the Christian Association of Nigeria.
