Joshua agrees to train with Tyson Fury as he prepared for rematch with Oleksandr Usyk

FORMER world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Oluwaseni Joshua has had his request to train with long-time rival Tyson Fury as he prepares to challenge for his belts back accepted.

Last month, Joshua lost his World Boxing Association (WBA), International Boxing Federation (IBF), World Boxing Organisation (WBO) and International Boxing Organisation (IBO) titles to Ukranian Oleksandr Usyk when they met at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Following the loss, Joshua's management team immediately asked for a rematch in line with the terms of their contract.

Prior to his loss to Usyk, Joshua had been planning a unification fight with Tyson Fury, who currently holds the World Boxing Council (WBC) belt. Tyson who just retained his title after seeing off a challenge from Detonay Wilder, had been looking forward to the reunification fight but it will now have to wait until after Joshua's rematch with Usyk.

In the run-up to his rematch, Fury has offered to train with Joshua and this offer has been accepted. Joshua accepted the offer by his fellow Brit in an interview reported by Mirror Fighting, earlier today, confirming that he was open to receiving the training which will help him beat his opponent as long as it does not come at any cost.

Joshua said: “Yeah, lovely mate. If he takes no money for it. I don’t know if he’s after a quid or two. He’s more than welcome to come through the doors, he can even spar with me as well.”
