Victor Moses may be on his way back to England as he eyes reunion with Conte at Spurs

FORMER Super Eagles winger Victor Moses may be on his way back to the English Premier League after his former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was named as the new Tottenham Hotspurs manager amid indications that the two may link up again.

Moses, 30, joined Russian side Spartak Moscow at the beginning of this season, having spent loan sessions with the club and  Italian side Inter Milan after leaving Chelsea who he joined in 2012. While at both Chelsea and Inter Milan, Moses played under Conte and the two of them have a good working relationship.

Yesterday, Spurs sacked manager Nuno Santo after a string of poor results and replaced him with Mr Conte, whose first task will be to sign new players during the January transfer window. Moses had recently described Conte as the most important manager he’s ever worked with in his career.

Moses said: “I have played under a lot of managers and I have loved every single one of them but the most important one was Antonio Conte. He just came in, he changed everything.”

Before the arrival of Conte at Chelsea a few years ago, Moses had spent three successive loan spells at Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham United. However, upon arriving, Conte revived his career by converting him into a wing-back as the club won the Premier League title during the 2016/17 season and the FA Cup the following year

After Conte left Chelsea for Inter Milan in 2019, Moses was frozen out by his successor, Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge. However, Conte, 52, then signed Moses for Inter on loan from Chelsea as a replacement for right wing-back Valentino Lazaro who joined Newcastle United.
