Osimhen all set for return to action against Sierra Leone in Nations Cup qualifier tomorrow

SUPER Eagles talisman Victor Osimhen will lead Nigeria's attack tomorrow when the national team locks horns with Sierra Leone in an African Cup of Nations qualifier at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

By far Nigeria's most high profile player, Osimhen, who is the subject of a bidding war among Europe's top clubs at the moment, opted out of the Eagles' last two matches. During friendly games against Mexico and Ecuador, Osimhen, the team's targetman, asked to be excused but he is now back in camp raring to go tomorrow.

Genk's Cyriel Dessers led the line in the team’s friendlies against Mexico and Ecuador but will now make way for the Napoli striker against the Leone Stars. According to camp sources, Osimhen has shone in all the team’s training sessions and is certain to get the nod ahead of the other strikers tomorrow.

Osimhen has been the team’s leading marksman since Odion Ighalo retired from international football after the 2019 African Cup of Nations finals in Egypt. Tonight, the Eagles will have their last training session on the practise pitch of the Moshood Abiola Stadium ahead of the game tomorrow.
