Wolves become the latest English club to signify and interest in signing Paul Onuachu

WOLVERHAMPTON Wanderers have become the latest English Premier League side to express an interest in signing Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu with a view to bringing him to Molineux this summer.

Onuachu, 28, has been a standout performer for Belgian side Genk over the last two seasons, attracting the attention of several Premier League clubs. Two seasons ago, he recorded 34 league goals and his exploits did not go unnoticed, as it led to him being recognised as the best player in Belgium.

After his recent feats, the Super Eagles striker was expected to seal a move away from Genk but despite links to Lyon, Arsenal, and West Ham, he remains in Belgium. Atletico Madrid, and Fiorentina have also been linked to the towering striker nut now, they could face competition as Wolves are interested too.

Onuachu recorded 23 goals in 41 appearances last season, so could provide Wolves with another dimension as he is quite dogged and dangerous in aerial situations. Bruno Lage’s side had a decent campaign last season but they are looking to improve on that, especially as they are set to loan striker Fabio Silva to Anderlecht and would need a replacement.

For the move to proceed, however, Wolves will need to come up with at least €20m. Last year, West ham was told that they could have Onuachu for €15m but with add-ons the total cost will take his price to €20m.
