Ndidi expected to be back in action next week as his injury is not as severe as feared

SUPER Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi should be back in action at the end of the international break as his recent injury is just a grade one tear and is not as bad as was originally feared.

Anchorman Ndidi had to pull out of today's international game against Algeria after picking up an injury in training and there had been fears that he may face a long lay-off. While in camp for the Algeria game, Ndidi, was forced off after feeling something in his hamstring but scan results have shown that he will be fine.

Head coach Jose Peseiro, said: “He came, he trained without intensity, a small training session but felt something in his hamstring and I think it’s best not to use him. It’s not dangerous but I’m not going to use one player in a friendly match if he can get more injured, so he had returned to Leicester for recovery.”

Apparently, Ndidi may be back for Leicester City against Nottingham Forest on October 3 as his club hopes he can make his seventh appearance of the season for them. Ndidi is yet to make an international appearance for Nigeria under Peseiro as different injuries have resulted him missing matches.
