UK foremost female disc jockey DJ Cuppy bags masters degree from Oxford University

NIGERIA'S foremost female disc jockey in the UK Florence Otedola popularly known as DJ Cuppy has graduated from the famous University of Oxford with a Master’s degree in African Studies.

 

DJ Cuppy is one of the leading Nigerians who dominate the London social scene, handling turntables across the capital every weekend. She is one of an elite bands that includes the likes of DJ Abass, DJ KC, DJ Kashif, DJ Jaido, Deoba Authentic, DJ Naija, DJ Mind the Gap and DJ Alexxo.

 

Taking to Twitter to announce her graduation, DJ Cuppy, said that although she did not get a merit or distinction in her thesis, she was excited that she passed. She noted that she faced a tough year at Oxford and was proud of herself that she had finally graduated.

 

DJ Cuppy wrote:  “I got my thesis result, which classifies my MSc degree. I didn’t get a merit or a distinction, but I passed.  After a tough year, I can officially say I am now a graduate from the University of Oxford and I am proud of myself. To God be the glory."

 

According to DJ, she almost dropped out of Oxford twice after being initially accepted in March 2021. This would be her second master’s degree as she bagged one in Music Business from New York University in 2015.

 

She added: “I’m so drained that it actually feels so difficult to celebrate. Over the last few weeks, I’ve pushed myself so much, both mentally and physically to actually finish this degree. Truthfully, this has been one of the most challenging experiences of my life. This paper alone has made me want to drop out of Oxford University twice.”
