NIGERIA'S senate has approved President Muhammadu Buhari's N2.34trn ($5.68bn) loan request to help fund the 2021 budget in recognition of the fact that the coronavirus pandemic has made it impossible for the government to generate revenue itself.

SCOTTISH champions Glasgow Rangers have joined the race to sign Nigerian midfielder Alhassan Yusuf from Swedish side IFK Gothenburg ahead of the forthcoming 2021/22 season.
Yusuf, 20, who joined Gothenburg from FC Hearts Nigeria three years ago, was voted Young Player of the Year in the Swedish top flight last season. English Premier League new boys Brentford are also being linked with Yusuf, who only has one year left on his contract at the Gamla Ullevi Stadium in Sweden.
